Seeking Interior Designer to join our IBSG family in South Florida. Must have STRONG hospitality/residential design experience. Creative, resourceful licensed professional with minimum 5 years high end experience. Selects color schemes, window treatments, hardware and lighting fixtures, carpet, artwork, paint, and furniture. Works with architect on layout of rooms and must be knowledgeable with demolition. Must have extensive portfolio. Able to multitask, handle large budgets and manage project from conceptual design to completion. Excellent communication/presentation skills and ability to work in a fast paced environment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Work with clients to design or renovate spaces to meet their standards.
Enhance the function, safety, and aesthetics of interior spaces.
Select samples, including flooring, carpet, and paint to be approved by client.
Choose color palettes.
Plan/design architectural detail such as crown molding and built-in bookshelves.
Read and interpret construction documents.
Travel to stores/vendors/shops to purchase items for spaces and/or supervise manufacturing.
Work with vendors on the selection of pieces.
Plan and estimate budgets for projects.
Submit drawings to ensure that the design meets building codes.
Draw up floor plans and sketches.
Use computer-aided design (CAD) to create drawings.
Supervise renovation/construction/design and decorating of room.
Contract out painting, carpeting etc to vendors.
Supervise assistants who carry out and perform administrative tasks.
Coordinate work schedules and installations.
Follow up with clients to ensure design specifications have been met.
