Overview
A1000xBetter is a quickly growing interior design firm looking for a Designer to assist with design projects. Most projects are residential in nature and we are looking for an individual with the appropriate education and construction experience to join our team.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Contribute to the overall look and feel of project interiors with direction from the Director of Interiors
- Act as main point of contact with clients on assigned projects
- Research and sourcing of design elements based on project specifications
- Able to produce and assemble construction documents skillfully
- Produce plumbing, lighting, electrical, switching, and reflected ceiling plans
- Block out and develop elevations from drawings and concept with accuracy
- Thorough and accurate at red line pick-ups
- Clouds and notes revisions on drawing/specs modifications
- Produce sections and details of millwork
- Produce door, hardware, plumbing, lighting, finish schedules
- Knows CAD standards well and applies them to each project
- Anticipate, troubleshoot, and navigate any design or construction issues
- Lead site-visits with contractors, subcontractors, and vendors and facilitate project updates to clients
- Maintain project momentum and ensure deadlines are met
- Facilitate/moderate communication between client and other project participants
- Research and development – vendors, product, systems, processes, showrooms, trade shows, etc
- Establish and maintain all important vendor relationships
- Other duties may be assigned in accordance with company needs
- Supervise Associate Designer providing clear directives, delegation, and expectations. Manage their workload, assign and oversee tasks, including but not limited to
- Product quotes, pricing, proposals, purchasing, and tracking
- Digital and material design boards
- Managing data in the shared Google Drive and client binders
- Scheduling and time management
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- At least 6 years of experience working in a residential design firm, with experience working on job sites and with contractors
- Bachelor’s degree in interior design or similar program
- Proficient in the following programs:
- Auto-CAD
- Canva
- Adobe Design Suite (specifically Photoshop and InDesign)
- Google Drive
- Experience in the following programs is preferred but not required:
- Studio Designer
- Sketchup
- Bluebeam Revu
- Previous experience producing construction documents and/or millwork drawings
- Experience and comfort working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Flexible attitude and ability to problem-solve easily on or off-site
- Organized and able to plan ahead and anticipate needs
- Must be able to maintain good client, vendor, and consultant relationships
- Highly organized, with attention to detail, and strong ability to multitask
- Excellent verbal/communication skills, high comfortability interacting with vendors, tradespeople, and clients
- Enthusiastic, motivated and positive
- During working hours, access to a reliable vehicle and cell phone is required. Must have a valid Drivers’ License and be able to drive frequently around the Los Angeles area.
SALARY: $85,000 per year
POSITION: Full-time with holiday, vacation, and healthcare (medical, dental, vision) benefits
SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday, 9am – 5:30pm
