Position: Design Architect Specialist

Location: St. Petersburg, Florida (offices also in Clearwater and Tampa)

Position Overview:

As the **Design Architect Specialist**, you’ll spearhead the design and execution of high-quality, cost-effective restaurant, retail, and office spaces. Your vision and expertise will drive every phase of the design process, from initial concepts to final construction, with close collaboration across construction and engineering teams. This role is ideal for an engaged and creative architect with a solid technical foundation and a commitment to producing exceptional work.

Key Responsibilities: 

– Lead architectural design across multiple project types, including the flagship waterfront development.

– Develop preliminary concepts, schematic designs, design development plans, and construction documents.

– Conducted field verifications to create accurate drawings of existing conditions.

– Review and approve architectural plans, including tenant space and shop drawings.

– Coordinate design efforts with both internal teams and external construction and architectural partners.

– Create site plan drawings in collaboration with civil engineering teams.

– Evaluate design needs, recommend solutions, and propose alternative constructions when needed.

– Research and interpret zoning regulations and municipal codes.

– Prepare drawings and documentation for cost-estimating purposes.

– Offer value-engineering options to ensure cost-effectiveness without compromising design integrity.

Qualifications:

– Bachelor’s degree in Architecture; Master’s degree preferred.

– Licensed architect with at least seven years of experience focusing on restaurant, retail, or office space design.

– Strong background in commercial project design.

– Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while upholding high-quality standards.

– Excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and strong organizational abilities.

– Self-starter with a solid work ethic, ability to prioritize, and a commitment to excellence in all aspects of work.
