Job Posting: Project Architect
Position Overview: We seek a talented and experienced Project Architect and/or Job Captain to join our growing multifamily housing practice. This role involves preparing design and contract documents for large multifamily and mixed-use projects across multiple sectors. The Project Architect will lead an internal architecture team of 2 to 4 people per project and collaborate with the studio’s Principal and project managers to refine our multifamily project standards and marketing strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the project manager in preparing design and contract documents for large multifamily and mixed-use projects.
- Lead an internal team of architects, providing guidance and oversight.
- Collaborate with the studio’s Principal and project managers on refining project standards and marketing strategies.
- Engage in both design and technical aspects of projects, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
- Attend in-person meetings in Syracuse, NY, at least once per month.
Position Details:
- Location: This is a hybrid remote role; candidates must be within driving distance of projects in Upstate New York (between Syracuse and New York City).
- Project Scope: Includes LIHTC and market-rate multifamily projects ranging from 50 to 300 units, with multiple projects pursuing LEED and Passive House certifications.

Qualifications:
- Degree in Architecture (licensure preferred).
- 5+ years of experience with large architecture projects.
- 3+ years of experience with multifamily housing.
- Experience with wood frame construction.
- Ability to manage others in a fast-paced environment.
- Advanced knowledge of Revit.
- Experience with sustainable projects.
- Experience with New York State LIHTC projects.
- Familiarity with a wide range of construction types.
- Willingness to work in both design and technical capacities.
- Ability to communicate design concepts to clients.
- 3+ years of construction administration experience.
- Must reside in Central/Western/Southern Tier regions of New York State.

Comprehensive Benefits: You’ll receive a competitive salary ranging from $70,000 to $90,000 and comprehensive health, vision, and dental coverage for you and your family. We also offer a 401K plan with a firm contribution.
Office Environment: Our main headquarters is in downtown Syracuse, surrounded by historic charm and modern amenities. It is a LEED Silver office with beautiful city views and various workspaces. This is a Hybrid position.
